Ben chose to practice law because of his strong commitment to public service and desire to help others. Ben is a member of the Forsyth County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association,  and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Ben practices civil litigation with a primary focus in the areas of employment law and workers’ compensation. Ben presently teaches workers’ compensation law as an adjunct professor at Wake Forest University School of Law.

Ben also helps clients with a variety of other legal matters including criminal defense work and unemployment benefits.

Ben is originally from Winston Salem, NC and is a proud “double deacon” with degrees from Wake Forest University and Wake Forest University School of Law. In law school, Ben gained practical experience from the Elder Law Clinic and the Community Law and Business Clinic. Ben was also selected into the pro bono honor society based on the number of pro bono hours he completed while in law school. Prior to joining EMP, Ben interned at EMP as a file clerk and as a summer intern. Ben also interned under the Honorable Judge Edwin Wilson Jr. in Rockingham, County North Carolina. Ben currently also serves as a Captain in the 134th Legal Operations Detachment of the United States Army Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps.

Ben lives in Winston Salem with his wife Holley, a marketing and sales manager at an accounting firm, their daughter, and their dog, Murphy. In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with his family and biking.
